Public Health Surveillance
The Institute's functions include establishing mechanisms for promptly detecting outbreaks and emergencies, building response capacity at various levels, ensuring appropriate laboratory capabilities, setting up Emergency Operation Centres, managing public health functions outside of emergencies, conducting surveillance, disseminating key public health messages, performing vulnerability and risk assessments, collaborating with non-health entities, and conducting monitoring, evaluation, and research to enhance the public health system.
